Fumio Manaka has over 49 years of experience in the martial arts. The Jinenkan system was founded to relay traditional real life budo. He has chosen Unsui as his budo (martial arts) name which means independent seeker of enlightenment.

The Jinenkan system teaches authentic Japanese Samurai Budo. This includes unarmed methods (taijutsu), ninjutsu & weapons, including sword, knife, jutte, bo, etc. These techniques are taught just as they were hundreds of years ago with practical use in today's world.

In the Jinenkan a strong emphasis is placed on mastering the fundamentals. The basics are not just a step which one passes through on the way to learning more 'advanced' techniques. Every student is expected to keep polishing his or her basics year after year, and not forgetting them once the test has been passed. Also, we study the techniques as they are written, and in the order they are written in the scrolls. There are reasons why the scrolls are organized as they are, and a piecemeal approach to training can leave a person without the tools he or she needs to learn any technique well. " The Jinenkan is a traditional, scroll-based training organization that is well-known within ninjutsu for extremely precise movement.

At the Jinenkan Butoku Dojo we strive to master the basic principles of taijutsu (art of using the body) as taught by Manaka Unsui Sensei. By having weekly training sessions, designed for students of any skill level, we feel that any student can and will develop in their ability to master taijutsu. We do this through the teachings and under the guidance of Unsui Sensei.
